The choice before me was clear: return to a high-paying job I had no passion for, or venture into the uncertain world of real estate, a field that aligned with my true interests. I chose the harder path, knowing it held the promise of a more fulfilling life.
It was a tempting offer—my past employer wanted me to return in a high-paying position. Financially, it made perfect sense. But deep down, I knew accepting it would put me right back in a career I wasn’t passionate about.
For a long time, I worked in finance for a big brokerage firm. However, it didn’t take long for me to realize that many people were in finance for the wrong reasons. I transitioned to a law firm, thinking I might eventually go to law school. I quickly climbed the management ranks, earning a good salary and overseeing a large team, but I never loved it.
In an effort to pivot, a few partners and I started a debt-purchasing company. Once again, I was focused on the financial potential rather than my own happiness. Managing call centers and dealing with contracts became another grind. At 32, I knew something had to change. It was during this time I received a tempting job offer.
Feeling conflicted, I had a heart-to-heart with my wife, Sarah. She asked me what I truly wanted. I said, “Look, I know that this job would fix our short-term problems. But I think long term, it’s going to make me miserable.” Sarah supported me and suggested I get my real estate license. It was a passion I had indulged in for years, even helping friends and family with their property searches. I saw an opportunity to start something I genuinely enjoyed.
My wife and I made the decision together, knowing the temporary sacrifices we would have to make. I jumped into real estate with both feet, becoming a full-time REALTOR® in 2012. Starting out, I worked hard to make a name for myself. Within my first year, I became the number three agent in my office. This success validated my transition to real estate, but I knew I had more to learn, so I joined a successful team. There, I was able to hone and develop my skills, working on the number one team in Essex County for four years straight.
Toward the end of that run, I became the number two agent for RE/MAX Northeast in December 2015. This time, I was ready to go out on my own and carve a path that aligned with my values and distinct approach to the buying and selling process. This career has been so fulfilling, allowing me to merge my interest in design and property with a genuine desire to help people. Every step of the process, from answering questions and explaining the steps to negotiating the final deal and ensuring a smooth closing, is an opportunity to positively impact my clients' lives. And along the way, I genuinely enjoy getting to know the people I serve and building lasting relationships.
True success isn’t just about financial gain; it is about the profound satisfaction of helping as many people as possible. This drives me to strive for excellence, with the real reward being the joy and relief on my clients’ faces during one of their most significant decisions.
My wife, Sarah, has been my rock throughout this journey. She believed in me and encouraged me to take that leap of faith that transformed my life. I now have the balance, purpose, and joy in my work that I once thought was out of reach, and for that, I’m very grateful.
In our free time, we enjoy our two bulldogs, Harley and Shelby, and traveling, especially to Nantucket and Charleston. In a continued effort to do things I’m passionate about, I support and donate to the Jeannie Geiger Crisis Foundation and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (MSPCA).
Having lived in the North Shore area my entire life, I have a unique understanding of its diverse communities. I specialize in various real estate transactions, including new construction, resale homes, and investment properties. For new constructions, I collaborate closely with clients and builders to shape the design and story of the property. With resale homes, I assist both buyers and sellers by pinpointing the right property or meticulously staging and marketing listings to showcase their best features. For investors, I leverage my network to find profitable opportunities that may not be on the market yet. In every transaction, I go the extra mile by offering personalized advice and hands-on support to ensure a seamless and tailored experience.
To do the best job for my clients, I believe it is essential to connect with them and understand their stories. I strive to create a supportive and stress-free experience where clients feel valued and understood. My extensive knowledge of design and local market trends allows me to offer insightful advice and creative solutions. I aim to deliver such an exceptional and reliable experience that the next time you, a friend, or a family member need real estate services, my name is the first that comes to mind!
